Biographies

Peter Buchanan
Managing Partner

Peter has served as an executive-level consultant focusing on strategy, business development, and marketing and in active roles as a CEO, strategic planner, product manager, and sales manager. For the last 25+ years, he has advised the CEOs and Boards of tech companies on the best strategies for fundraising, managing growth, and achieving a high-value exit. He co-founded three successful professional services companies, where he developed strategies, business models, fundable business plans, and successful market messages for over 300 start-up, growth, and mid-market companies.  He has also served as an interim head of strategy and corporate development for multiple high-growth companies.  As CEO at VIAcode Consulting, he managed a team of elite developers that built software for leading Fortune 1000 and growth companies.  VIAcode's customers included Microsoft, Amazon, Wolters Kluwer, NetApp, and Datacore.  Peter spent his formative years at British Telecom and then at GE Information Services (GEIS), where he invented a market and competitive analysis approach that helped to win major deals and gain significant market share.  This approach was adopted in other GE businesses with excellent results. Peter holds a BA in History from the University of Virginia.

Michael Rapaport
Managing Partner

Michael is a seasoned software and services executive with 30 years of experience as a successful CEO and senior sales, product, and operations executive. He has worked primarily in enterprise software and services, and during his career, he achieved a series of high-value exits. In addition to his work at NewPlan, Michael is the Co-Founder and CEO of Integri, LLC, which develops mission-critical business applications for the US military. Most recently, he grew and scaled IQS – a fast-growing quality management and compliance software provider for manufacturers in multiple markets. He sold the company to Cority in 2017. Michael also served as Senior VP of Sales, Marketing, and Product Management for Western Data Systems (WDS) – the number one provider of MRO software in the Aerospace & Defense sector. With the CEO, he led the company’s sale of WDS to Manugistics (now JDA), which produced a widely used and complementary Supply Chain Management platform. Earlier in his career, Michael held a series of CEO and Senior Sales Management positions with software and professional services companies that grew rapidly and were sold to larger competitors. Michael has a BS in Business Administration and Management from the University of Miami.
